In Norwich, NY, the Helping Hands organization proudly offered support to more than 350 people in the local community. The effort, a monthly ‘giveback night,’ supplied individuals and families with a variety of essentials, which have been much-needed during the trying times of the COVID-19 pandemic. Nonprofit supporter and advocate, Jeff Ber, shares the story:

On the third Thursday of each month, Helping Hands comes together for what the nonprofit organization refers to as “giveback night.”  At these events, Helping Hands collaborates with numerous nonprofits, like Run Chenango, in an effort to procure essential supplies for members of the local community who are in need.  This month, the initiative was able to draw in nearly $2,000 worth of donated supplies, including food, hygiene products, cleaning supplies and more.  A much-needed effort in the Norwich community, each giveback night regularly sees hundreds of attendees.  By collaborating with other local organizations and nonprofit initiatives, Helping Hands is able to assist their neighbors in an incredible way.

As someone who works in the nonprofit sector, Jeff Ber knows all too well how valuable giving back to the community truly is.  Emphasizing that sense of community often goes the longest way.  Ber congratulates Helping Hands on this incredible effort and salutes the nonprofit for the valuable work they are accomplishing through collaboration within the Norwich community.
